BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Coffee connoisseurs can enjoy a little heavy metal with their lattes at a new café in Bed-Stuy.

Burly Coffee, which opened on Throop Avenue at the end of October, installed a Metallica pinball machine in its back room last Friday.

“We’re fans of old-school games, specifically pinball, and were looking for a fun little addition to fill out our back space,” said owner Tom Colella.

After choosing from the shop’s menu, which includes dulce de leche donuts and Milwaukee-roasted Colectivo coffee, patrons can pay a dollar per game or $2 for three.

Under the glow of a neon arrow, players shoot the ball along caskets, electric chairs and grave markers as 12 Metallica songs, including “Master of Puppets,” “One” and “Fade to Black,” blast in the background.

The year-old machine is one of a few dozen scattered around the city, thanks to Brooklyn Pinball operator Al Cihak.

“You can play pinball online, on your computer, laptop, phone, but people want to play the real thing,” Cihak said. “The industry is growing, making it even more popular.”

Another Metallica pinball game was recently installed at Berg’n, Brooklyn Flea’s Crown Heights beer hall.

The game’s resurgence will also hit Branch Ofc., with the new cocktail bar receiving three machines, including Wrestlemania and Jack•Bot, Cihak added.
