UPPER EAST SIDE — A well-dressed pickpocket lifted a wallet from a woman inside of an Associated supermarket and then used her credit card to go shopping at a nearby CVS, NYPD said.
The man grabbed a wallet, carrying $90 in cash and credit cards, from a 50-year-old woman at about 5 p.m. on Nov. 21, inside of Associated Food Universe at 1486 Lexington Ave. near East 96th Street, police said.
The thief — who was wearing a gray knit hat, brown dress shoes, a tan coat and black slacks — then used the victim’s credit card to make $237.30 worth of purchases at the CVS drugstore at 1622 Third Ave., according to police.
Associated Supermarkets did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
