MANHATTAN — A man climbed into a Midtown apartment through its balcony and beat a 75-year-old woman before stealing $310 Saturday, police said.

The suspect, a sketch of whom police released, got into the 57th Street apartment about 5 p.m. and demanded two women inside, aged 75 and 78, hand over cash, according to the NYPD.

He then slugged the 75-year-old woman and took $310 from the pair before fleeing the scene, police said.

Both women were treated at St. Luke's Hospital where they were listed in stable condition, police said.

The suspect is about 30 and 5-foot-8, officials said.

Police did not have information about which floor the apartment was on.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
