ASTORIA — Elected officials and community members plan to gather Tuesday for a vigil commemorating NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, who were fatally shot in Bedford-Stuyvesant earlier this month.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. at the 114th Precinct, at 34-16 Astoria Blvd. South, according to a post on City Councilman Costa Constantinides' Facebook page. State Sen. Michael Gianaris and Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas are also expected to attend, the post said.

The vigil will take place as several NYPD precincts across Queens will gather for another memorial event Tuesday night at the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows in honor of Liu and Ramos.

The two officers, who worked in the 84th Precinct, were shot and killed Dec. 20 as they sat in a patrol car in Brooklyn. The gunman, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, killed himself in a nearby subway station after the shooting.

Vigils have sprung up across the city in honor of the two fallen officers. Ramos, 40, was laid to rest during a funeral on Saturday in Queens.
