MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS — A fire broke out inside a six-story residential building on West 110th Street near Morningside Park Wednesday morning, officials said.

The FDNY responded to a call about 11:50 a.m. for a fire on the top floor of 410 W. 110th St., near Columbus Avenue, the department said.

There was only one person in the building when the fire erupted, according to an FDNY official on the scene. She exited the building herself and refused medical care.

The blaze was brought under control about 12:25 p.m., officials added.

The cause is under investigation.
