FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A TriBeCa man was left coatless, shoeless and face-down on the sidewalk in a late-night robbery in the Financial District last week, police said.

The 32-year-old victim told police he was walking along Nassau Street, between Beekman and Ann Streets, about 1:30 a.m. on Dec. 19 when a man approached him and demanded, "Give me your wallet.” The robber kept his hand in his pocket, implying that he had a gun, the victim told officers.

The victim gave the thief his wallet, with $20 in it, but the robber was not satisfied and ordered the man to take off his $500 Brooks Brothers wool coat and $250 Ferragamo shoes, police said. The victim handed over the items and then followed the mugger's order to lie face-down on the ground.

Once the man was lying on the sidewalk, the robber fled, police said.

Police were still investigating the robbery as of Dec. 23.
