STATEN ISLAND — An off-duty NYPD officer broke into her boyfriend's mom's Staten Island home, stole jewelry and later pawned it, a law enforcement source said.

Stacey Staniland, 29, who is assigned to the 122 Precinct in Staten Island, was arrested last week after she broke into the woman's Egbert Avenue home on Nov. 25 and Dec. 1 and stole necklaces and bracelets from inside, according to police and court documents.

Afterwards, Staniland took the jewelry to Cash Depot at 505 Morningstar Rd. and pawned them for cash, court documents said.

She was arrested on Thursday and charged with burglary, criminal possession of stolen property and petit larceny, according to the Staten Island District Attorney's office.

Staniland was released without bail and is due back in court on Jan. 9, 2015.
