THE BRONX — A man busted for a mugging was released from jail Wednesday only to be promptly re-arrested for fatally shooting a man in the lobby of his High Bridge apartment building during an argument 10 days before, officials said.

Brian Solano, 21, shot a single bullet into the chest of Willie Lora, also 21, within 1566 Macombs Road, near West Mount Eden Road, about 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, police said.

Lora was pronounced dead at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, police said.

Solano, who lives in Concourse Village, was arrested on Dec. 12 for participating in a mugging with three other men on Dec. 1, according to prosecutors and a Department of Correction spokesman.

During the mugging, one of the thieves shot the victim in the left leg, but Solano did not pull the trigger, prosecutors said.

Solano was behind bars for five days until he was released Wednesday. He was arrested again about 5 p.m. for Lora's murder, police and jail officials said.

He faced charges of murder, manslaughter, criminal use and possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD and court records.

Solano was also arrested on Nov. 5 for credit card fraud and on Aug. 30 for a domestic assault, court records show.
