THE BRONX — A man was arrested Wednesday for fatally shooting a teenager steps from his Soundview home, police said.

Christopher Solomon, 23, walked up to and shot 19-year-old Ariel Montanus in the torso in front of 1265 Morrison Ave., near East 172nd Street, about 1 a.m. Dec. 3, according to the NYPD.

Montanus, who lived on the block where he was shot, was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital, police said.

Solomon and Montanus knew each other and lived about two blocks apart, an NYPD spokesman said, but the motive of the shooting was not immediately clear.

Witnesses helped identify Solomon, who was arrested Wednesday on murder charges, police said.

He's due back in court on Tuesday, according to jail records.
