PARK SLOPE — This takes fare beating to a whole new level.

A taxi passenger paid for his ride from Manhattan to Brooklyn, then assaulted the cab's driver and ran away, according to a police report.

The 27-year-old taxi driver said he picked up the passenger in Manhattan and drove him to an address on St. Mark's Avenue near Carlton Avenue about 4 a.m. on Dec. 7, police said. When they arrived, the passenger started to yell at the cabbie, who told him to pay and get out of the cab, according to the report.

The passenger used a credit card to pay, then hit the cabbie with a blunt object and ran away, police said. There were no video cameras in the area, but the passenger's credit card information was stored by the cab company. No arrests had been made as of Thursday.

Other notable crimes in this week's blotter at the 78th Precinct included the following, with details drawn from police reports:

► A restaurant delivery worker had his electric bike stolen while he was bringing food to a residence on 14th Street and Seventh Avenue on Nov. 30 about 8 p.m., police said. The 25-year-old restaurant employee told police the bike was worth $1,200.

► Property was stolen out of two storage lockers at the Storage Mart at Atlantic and Sixth avenues, police said. One locker was burglarized between Nov. 29 and Dec. 6, with the thief snagging $14,000 in property, including a 60-inch LG TV, a queen-size bed frame, a guitar, a keyboard and African drums. Another locker had items stolen out of it between Dec. 1 and Dec. 6, police said. The stolen property included a Panasonic keyboard and a West Elm armoire, according to police.

► A Chilliwack coat worth $645 was stolen from the Square Stores shop on Fifth Avenue and Eighth Street on Dec. 4 about 3:20 p.m., police said.

► A man who was trying to buy a 2001 Saturn car lost $600 after he gave the money to the seller as a deposit on Oct. 31, police said. The man was supposed to retrieve the car a few days later, but when he called to make arrangements, the seller "made up reasons" why she couldn't provide the vehicle, according to police. After several phone calls the seller still wouldn't hand over the car, the title or a refund.

► A thief smashed the passenger-side window of a 2009 Subaru Impreza parked at the Prospect Park Zoo and stole $5 in coins while the car's owner was visiting the nearby library on Dec. 5, police said.

► A 15-year-old boy had his Samsung cellphone stolen after he left it on a table inside the Barnes & Noble at Seventh Avenue and Sixth Street on Dec. 3 about 4 p.m., police said.

► A 44-year-old woman was scammed out of $9,000 in cash by a man claiming to be with the IRS, according to police. The man called the woman and said the IRS would issue a warrant for arrest, seize her assets and freeze her bank accounts if she didn't pay $9,000 in "bank taxes," police said. The man then instructed the woman to put the money on a Green Dot card, which is a prepaid debit card. The woman followed the order, then called her accountant, who explained that "the IRS doesn't call you and tell you to put money on Green Dot cards," police said.

Major crimes in the 78th Precinct have dropped 9 percent this year compared with the same period in 2013, according to the latest figures from the NYPD.
