HELL’S KITCHEN — A man who took home a stranger after a night of drinking woke to find to find his guest gone — along with his $1,600 MacBook Pro, $500 Hermes belt and other items, police said.

The 30-year-old man, who lives on West 42nd Street near Dyer Avenue, had taken home the stranger after meeting the person outside of 1 OAK, a nightclub located at 453 W. 17th St., while smoking a cigarette on Dec. 5, police said.

The thief, whose gender was not released, offered the man a ride home, stopping at a Chase Bank ATM so that the man could withdraw money, according to the NYPD. The thief also got out of the car with the man while he took out cash, according to police.

When they got to the man’s apartment around 3 a.m., he invited the thief inside for “alcoholic drinks,” according to a police report. The man passed out but woke up later that afternoon to find his belongings missing, police said.

In addition to his laptop and designer belt, the thief took an Apple iPad Mini worth $380, a $300 Salvatore Ferragamo belt and the man's debit and credit cards, according to the NYPD. Police said the cards were used to make unauthorized charges and withdrawals.

Information about the suspect was not immediately available.

Other notable crimes in the 10th Precinct include:

Police said the driver, a 28-year-old man from New Jersey, had been traveling northbound on Tenth Avenue on Dec. 7 at around 11:20 a.m. when an unknown person dropped the bag and destroyed the window.

► A thief stole a man’s wedding ring, leather jacket and other items from his gym locker after cutting off the lock, police said.

The 32-year-old victim had secured his belongings in a locker inside of an Eighth Avenue Blink Fitness at around 5:10 p.m. on Dec. 3, police said, but returned about an hour later to find that the lock had been broken.

In addition to his $250 leather jacket and $230 wedding ring, the thief stole a Samsung watch worth $200, a pair of blue pants worth $30, a New York State learner’s permit and a New York State pistol permit, police said.

The victim told police there was no camera by the locker room entrance or inside the locker room, according to the NYPD.

Blink Fitness did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
