BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Hundreds of apartments are set to rise in northern Bed-Stuy at the site of a century-old former linen supplier and laundry factory, according to city records.

Seven six-story buildings are planned to replace the factory at Myrtle Avenue and Stockton Street, according to permits filed Monday with the Department of Buildings.

The former Cascade Linen factory, a collection of buildings encompassing half the block, was sold in 2013 for $27 million, records show. The industrial site, which is flanked by the nearby Tompkins and Marcy Houses, operated for more than 100 years in the neighborhood.

A 228-unit complex, with room for 82 enclosed parking spots, is set to take its place.

The proposals were first reported by New York YIMBY, which noted there would be more than 40,000 feet of commercial space included in the project.

The redevelopment includes properties at the following addresses: 869 Myrtle Ave., 134 Stockton St., 98 Stockton St., 108 Stockton St., 86 Stockton St., 833 Myrtle Ave., and 857 Myrtle Ave.

Mike Kohn of Alliance Private Capital Group in Williamsburg, who is listed in city records as owner of the seven properties, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
