MELROSE — A man was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in front of a pharmacy on a quiet Bronx block, police said.
Timothy Hairston, 27, a Melrose resident, was found unconscious in front of the Lincoln Care Drugs at 270 E. 165th St. about 5:30 p.m. with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and a Hi-Point .380 caliber firearm next to his body, police said.
He was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he died. No one had been arrested in the shooting as of Monday, according to police.
Ibrahim Cisse, who was working in Koro Beauty Supplies next to the crime scene, said he called 911 on Saturday after he heard four gunshots ring out and then turned to see Hairston fall down.
He said he had not seen the victim around the neighborhood and did not know what the shooting was about, but he was stunned by the violence.
"I've been here, like, 15 years," he said. "That's the first time I've seen something like that."
