THE BRONX — A teenage boy was fatally shot in the chest near his Soundview home Wednesday evening, police said.
The teen, whose name was not immediately released, had collapsed in front of 1265 Morrison Ave., near East 172nd Street, about 5:50 p.m. when a man passing by saw him and alerted two NYPD officers walking nearby, police said.
The boy, who police said lived nearby, was pronounced dead at Jacobi hospital, according to the NYPD.
Investigators were still trying to locate his killer Thursday morning, police said.
