UPPER EAST SIDE — Restaurateur Eli Zabar is opening a new market-to-table eatery Wednesday night on the Upper East Side.

Called Eli's Table, the upscale restaurant is located at 1413 Third Ave. at 80th Street, right next to Zabar's Eli's List wine shop and Eli’s Manhattan supermarket, where the chef will pick different seasonal ingredients each day to compose that evening's menu.

On Wednesday night, main dishes will include Nantucket Bay scallops; shirred egg served with white truffle; and a charred rib-eye steak with hand-cut French fries. Prices range from $12 to $65 per dish.

Patrons will also be able to order Eli’s local lettuces, grown just a few blocks away in the rooftop greenhouse at Eli’s Vinegar Factory at York Avenue and 91st Street.

A lighter and cheaper menu — featuring cheese from Eli’s supermarket, Poulet Rouge nuggets with lemon and buttermilk yogurt, and Halibut fish tacos — will be served at the bar.

The restaurant's wine list, which has roughly 20 wines served by the glass, will feature bottles from Burgundy and Piedmont as well as a variety of Champagne.

The Eli's Table space was formerly home to Taste Restaurant & Wine Bar, also owned by Zabar, who is the brother of the owners of the well-known Upper West Side Zabar's grocery store. Taste Restaurant & Wine Bar was shut down last August to be revamped into the more upscale Eli's Table, a spokeswoman for the restaurant said.

Eli's Table will be open every night for dinner starting at 5 p.m. and for weekend brunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations can made online or by calling the restaurant at 212-717-9798.
