Service Disruptions Set for 11 Subway Lines This Weekend

MIDTOWN — Maybe it's better to start you Christmas shopping online this weekend.

Scheduled construction and repairs on 11 subway lines are expected to disrupt regular service.

Here’s a breakdown by line:

1 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Bronx-bound 1 trains will run express from Chambers Street to Penn Station.

2 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Bronx-bound 2 trains will run express from Chambers Street to Penn Station.

3 Line: From 11:45 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, 3 trains will run to and from New Lots Avenue all weekend, replacing the 4 in Brooklyn. 3 trains will run express in Manhattan all weekend.

4 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 4 trains will be suspended in both directions between Brooklyn Bridge and New Lots Avenue. Take the 2, 3, N, Q or R lines instead. For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, take the N, Q or R trains between Union Square or Canal Street and Barclays Center. 4 trains will operate local between Woodlawn and Brooklyn Bridge all weekend.

5 Line: From 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, 5 trains are suspended in both directions between Grand Central and Bowling Green. Use the 4, 6 or R trains instead. Service will run every 20 minutes between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and Grand Central.

6 Line: Until February 2015, 6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions.

For service to and from Zerega Avenue, use the Bx4 or shuttle buses to connect between Zerega Avenue and Castle Hill Avenue. Free transfer is available with a MetroCard.

For service to/from Buhre Avenue, use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road. Free transfer is available with a MetroCard.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains will run express from Parkchester to Pelham Bay Park.

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Manhattan-bound 6 trains will run express from Hunts Point Avenue to 3rd Avenue-138th Street.

From 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, 6 trains will run every 16 minutes between 3rd Avenue-138th Street and Pelham Bay Park. The last stop for some Pelham Bay Park-bound 6 trains will be 3rd Avenue-138th Street. Shuttles will be available from there to Pelham Bay Park.

A Line: Until January 2015, Inwood-bound A train will skip 104th Street and 88th Street.

For service to 104th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to an Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train. For service from 104th Street, take an Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 111th Street or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

For service to 88th Street, take the Brooklyn-bound A train to 80th Street and transfer to a Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train. For service from 88th Street, take a Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train.

D Line: From 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Norwood-bound Ds will run express from 145th Street to Tremont Avenue.

F Line: Until 5 a.m. Monday, F trains will be suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Avenue X. Free shuttle buses will operate between those stops.

J Line: From 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Chambers Street-bound J trains will run express from Broadway Junction to Myrtle Avenue.

Q Line: Until 5 a.m. Monday, Q trains will be suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Brighton Beach. Free
