
MANHATTAN — A man was fatally struck by a 1 train in the 79th Street subway station on the Upper West Side Monday morning, officials said.
The FDNY was called to West 79th Street and Broadway about 10:32 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
The man, whose age and name were not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene, the spokesman said.
Trains along the 1 line were suspended between 42nd Street and 137th Street, the MTA said.
MTA officials did not immediately have further information.
