Pub With 60 Beers on Tap Opening in Staten Island Ferry Terminal

FINANCIAL DISTRICT —  Craft brews will soon be flowing at the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.

The Brass Tap, a 75-seat, sit-down restaurant that specializes in craft beer, is set to open on the second floor of the Whitehall Street ferry terminal by March, owner Sal Himami told DNAinfo New York.

“This is the first real restaurant in the terminal,” said Himami, whose family has owned a small pizza place in the terminal for many years. “We’re really excited using the space — there’s really nice views of the harbor, and we’ll have great food and drinks.”

The eatery — which will serve pub fare like burgers, wings and soft pretzels — is slated to have 60 brews on tap, mostly from local breweries, Himami said.

“We’re still working on our beer list, but we want to be known for our quality beers, and our quality food," Himami added.

The restaurant, which is the first New York City franchise of a chain based in Florida, will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 a.m. daily. Community Board 1 recently gave its support for the eatery's liquor license.

The pub will be built in what's now an empty space on the second floor of the terminal.
