UPPER WEST SIDE — A pedestrian was hit by a car as she was crossing the street at Broadway and 96th Street, police said.
The pedestrian, who was struck by a car at about 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, refused medical attention at the scene, the FDNY said.
A police officer on the scene said she was going to be fine.
“She was lying on the ground in the middle of the street but she was conscious,” said Edward Murphy, a concierge at a nearby building who saw the aftermath of the accident.
Murphy described the pedestrian as a woman in her late 40s.
It was unclear if the woman had the right of way when the car hit her.
Car accidents at 96 Street and Broadway have injured nine pedestrians and killed two in the last two years, making the intersection one of the most dangerous on the Upper West Side.
