STAPLETON — Another large development is poised to rise on Staten Island's North Shore.

BFC Partners, the developers of the Empire Outlets, filed permits with the city on Monday to build a 214-unit apartment building near Stapleton's waterfront, New York YIMBY first reported.

The eight-story building at 475 Bay St. will also include nearly 9,000 square-feet for commercial businesses and an 84 space enclosed parking lot, according to the application for a permit filed with the Department of Buildings.

A spokeswoman for BFC declined to comment for this story.

The site is across the street from a large 800-unit project under construction at the former Stapleton Homeport.

The area is zoned as a manufacturing district and will need to get a zoning change before construction, according to the filing.
