WEST VILLAGE — The West Village is about to get even sweeter.
Upscale dessert specialist ChikaLicious is expanding from its current home in the East Village, with The Dessert Club, a 12-seat eatery opening at 27 Bedford St. on Nov. 8.
Customers can dine in at an L-shaped marble counter in the center of the restaurant, choosing from $12 a la carte desserts that come with a free non-alcoholic beverage, which at the East Village location includes tea, coffee and hot chocolate. There is also a $32 3-Dessert Tasting, designed for a couple people to share.
The Dessert Club menu has old favorites from ChikaLicious, like the Bun Chika Bun Bun, as well as new items, including a concoction of white chocolate mousse on a bed of lavender-marinated kiwi chunks, topped with a poppy-seed "puff," and a steamed pudding cake with warm vanilla anglaise and shredded apple.
New to-go treats debuting at the Bedford Street location include the Chika Chan, made from custard cream with house-spun apple sorbet and frosted pecans.
The takeout counter will be open from 7 a.m. to midnight daily. Service at the eat-in area will be available from 6 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, and 3 p.m. to midnight on the weekend.
