FINANCIAL DISTRICT — The long-delayed Fulton Center subway station will finally open on Nov. 10 at 5 a.m., the Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced Monday.

The $1.4 billion transit hub, most recently slated to open June 26, had postponed its launch repeatedly, most recently because of delays in testing systems, including the fire alarms and elevators, according to officials.

The massive station will be home to 10 subway lines and a variety of shops and eateries. The project was first supposed to open in 2007, but was delayed due to funding issues and a series of escalating costs.

The MTA has said that despite recent delays, the project is meeting its most recent budget.

The retail spaces in the transit hub will take longer to complete and an opening date for them has not yet been set, the MTA said.
