LOWER EAST SIDE — For the first time in more than two years, fans of antiques and curiosity collectors will be able to browse through Billy’s Antiques & Props this weekend.

Owner Billy Leroy will bring his tent of vintage treasures to the Hester Street Fair on Saturday as part of the Bedford+Bowery Bazaar, a fair that will feature dozens of vendors, according to Bowery Boogie which first reported the news.

The shop, which closed in 2012, will return “in pop-up form,” according to the Hester Street Fair.

Billy’s Antiques & Props sat in a large tent at Houston Street and the Bowery for 26 years before it closed to make way for a new two-story building. Leroy originally said he would open in the new building, but he has since changed his mind.

“[Owner] Tony Goldman promised me a spot in his new building,” he told Bowery Boogie in an email. “[It would be] a Billy’s Cafe type of collaboration, but the heir [Jessica Goldman] has never even reached out to me once. The whole neighborhood blows! Basically I'm done with retail.”

The Bedford+Bowery Bazaar will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 25 at the Hester Street Fair, located at Hester and Essex streets. Click here for more information.
