GREENWICH VILLAGE — A fight outside a University Place pizzeria turned vicious when a man darted into the eatery for a weapon, grabbed a spatula and began attacking people with it.

Mohammed Hardy, 28, was fighting with four others outside Little Italy Pizza at 122 University Place at 3:35 a.m. on Sept. 25, police said.

Hardy stormed into the Union Square pizza place and pushed his way behind the counter in search of a knife or some other weapon, but he found nothing but a spatula, police said.

Undeterred, he picked up the spatula, used it to shatter several lights inside the eatery on his way out, and then attacked the four victims with it, leaving them with gashes that required stitches, police said.

One victim suffered a dislocated shoulder and cuts on his ear, neck and bicep; the second was slashed in the face; the third was left with a split lip; and the fourth suffered a gash to his head, police said.

At least one of the victims was transported to Bellevue Hospital, the FDNY said.

Hardy was charged with felony assault with intent to cause serious physical injury. His lawyer did not immediately respond to a voicemail left for comment.

The damage to Little Italy Pizza totaled about $250, police said. Staff at the restaurant declined to comment.

► A man was caught walking out of a boutique with a $1,495 shearling jacket he hadn't paid for, police said.

Kai Chi Tuug, 26, took the jacket from the Vince men's store at 827 Washington St. about 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 25, police said.

The store's assistant manager, 22-year-old Chaz Pringle, said Tuug just quietly put the shearling coat on and walked out of the store.

"He didn't run," Pringle said. "He just put the shearling on and walked outside. He walked for a while."

Pringle said he followed Tuug from a safe distance and called police, who intercepted the shoplifter at Hudson Street and West 13th Street

Tuug was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. Information on his attorney was not immediately available.

► A thief tried to quietly walk off with a guitar left outside Caffe Reggio, but the guitar's owner was watching from inside the cafe and stopped the suspect, police said.

Police said a 28-year-old man left his $2,500 guitar in its $50 case outside the cafe at 119 MacDougal St. about 4:50 a.m. on Sept. 28, but was keeping an eye on it through the window, when he saw Jhonathan Carmona, 21, slip the straps of the guitar case over his shoulders and walk off.

The victim and two 31-year-old witnesses intervened, however, and stopped Carmona, police said. The trio got the guitar back and held Carmona until police arrived to arrest him.

Carmona was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. His lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Toussaint ran for several blocks and refused to put his hands behind his back when police caught up with him, police said.

Toussaint was eventually arrested and charged with grand larceny and resisting arrest. Police did not recover the woman’s $60 wallet, which she told them contained two credit cards, a debit card, a driver's license, $100 in cash and 25 euros, equal to approximately $32.

The 23-year-old victim told police she had just put her purse down on top of the bar inside Karaoke Boho at 187 W. Fourth St. about 1:40 a.m. on Sept. 24, and when she went to pick it up, she realized someone had taken it, the NYPD said.

Anthony Beacham, 33, tried to walk out of the bar with the purse, but when a 29-year-old man confronted him, he threw the purse to the ground and fled, police said. The 29-year-old chased after Beacham until police caught up with him nearby, the NYPD said.

Police said the purse contained the woman's $60 wallet, as well as an iPhone 4s, New York State learner’s permit, California State driver's license, TD Bank debit card, Barclays credit card, Capital One 360 debit card and American Express gift card.

Beacham pleaded guilty on Monday to criminal possession of stolen property and was sentenced to up to one year in jail, records show.
