THE BRONX — A woman was stabbed to death by her abusive boyfriend in his Bronx River Houses apartment Thursday afternoon following months of fights in which police had to be called, police said.

Tynasha Robinson, 21, was stabbed in the neck and torso by Jean Paul Rodriguez, 26, inside his sixth-floor apartment at 1609 E. 174th St., in Soundview, just after 5 p.m., police said. He then barricaded himself inside during a standoff with police, according to the NYPD.

Robinson lived in an apartment one floor below Rodriguez and had been granted an order of protection against him following a June incident in his apartment.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Rodriguez was eventually arrested at the scene Thursday and was awaiting arraignment Friday on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

He was also taken to Jacobi Hospital after his arrest and treated for cuts on his fingers that he sustained while stabbing Robinson, an NYPD spokeswoman said.

He and Robinson had been embroiled in five domestic disputes between September 2013 and  January 2014 in which police officers had to be called, according to an NYPD spokeswoman said.

A judge issued a temporary order of protection against Rodriguez after he broke Robinson's cellphone during a June fight in his apartment, court records show. Rodriguez shouted "Get the f--k out" and ordered Robinson to leave, records show.

That order of protection was reissued on Sept. 11 during Rodriguez's most recent court appearance, court records show.

Rodriguez was arrested eight times before on charges of assault and criminal mischief, police said.
