MIDTOWN — Small business owners across the boroughs can now have their voices heard thanks to a new city initiative.

The Department of Small Business Services is using email and Twitter to reach out to local businesses to see how it can better serve their needs.

The initiative also aims to provide more information about government requirements, to clarify rules to reduce violations and to ease the process for corrections of infractions.

SBS Commissioner Maria Torres-Springer is asking businesses for their ideas and feedback at online.

“Small Business First aims to approach regulation, government systems and communication through the eyes of business owners, while maintaining the city’s commitment to public health and safety,” the department said in a statement.
