Attacker Punches 72-Year-Old Man Who Tried to Break Up Fight, Police Say

CASTLE HILL — A 72-year-old man was punched it the face by an attacker nearly five decades his junior when he intervened in an argument in The Bronx last week, police say.

The 28-year-old suspect, described as a 6 feet tall and 198 pounds, started arguing with the victim's friend in front of 676 Castle Hill Ave. on Sept. 18 around 11:30 p.m., according to the NYPD.

The victim got involved with the dispute and told the suspect to leave.

Before he did, the suspect punched the victim in the face, police said.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital, treated for a cut face and bruised eye, and released.
