STATEN ISLAND — Move over Virginia, Staten Island is for lovers.
Staten Island was recently ranked the country's second-best city — though it's actually a borough — for couples to live by real estate website Rent.com.
The borough's high percentage of marriages, low number of divorces and separations and close proximity to plenty of activities and dining made it ideal for lovers — with only Newton, Massachusetts, keeping it out of the top spot.
"Staten Island is a great place to live for couples who want access to everything New York City has to offer while still experiencing the best parts of suburban life," said Niccole Schreck, consumer insights and marketing manager for Rent.com.
