MANHATTAN — Three people were hurt when a fire broke out in a Fort George building early Monday, the FDNY said.

Flames erupted on the first floor of 25 Sherman Ave., near Sickles Street, about 3 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The blaze was brought under control about 50 minutes later, officials said.

One person, whose name and age were not released, suffered serious injuries, but was listed in stable condition at New York-Presbyterian hospital, the spokesman said.

Two firefighters were also treated for minor injuries at the hospital, according to the FDNY.
