LONG ISLAND CITY — Police say they've made an arrest in the robbery of a 90-year-old man outside a supermarket in Queens last month.
Wade Hairston, 28, of Queens, is accused of robbing the man in front of a Stop and Shop at 34-51 48th St. on July 18, allegedly grabbing him by the neck and demanding his wallet and PIN number, according to the NYPD.
Police say Hairston had the victim drove to two locations, where he took out money from an ATM.
Hairston was arraigned Thursday on charges of robbery, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment and petit larceny, according to a criminal complaint.
"He stands by his innocence," his attorney Marla Band said.
