BROOKLYN — Two women suffered serious injuries and two police officers were also hurt when flames erupted inside a Bay Ridge apartment building Friday morning, the FDNY said.

The fire started about 4:30 a.m. on the fifth floor of 373 92nd St., near Fourth Avenue, an FDNY spokesman said.

Two women were seriously hurt, but they were taken in stable condition to Lutheran Medical Center, the FDNY said.

Two NYPD officers were also treated for minor injuries at the same hospital, the FDNY said. A police spokesman did not have further information.

About 60 firefighters brought the fire under control just after 5 a.m., the FDNY said.

The cause was still under investigation.
