THE BRONX — A man was struck by a truck and killed while trying to cross a Bronx highway Monday afternoon, police said.
A box truck heading north hit the man, whose identity has yet to be released, on the Cross Bronx Expressway near the Major Deegan exit about 12:16 p.m., according to the NYPD.
He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver remained at the scene and was not arrested.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
