GREENWICH VILLAGE — A fight in the basement of Meatpacking District restaurant Macelleria turned bloody last week when one man bashed another in the head with a meat tenderizer, police said.

The fight started just before 6:25 a.m. July 1 at the Italian steakhouse at 48 Gansevoort St. and escalated when Oscar Orellano, 30, picked up a metal meat tenderizer and hit the other man in the forehead with it, leaving a deep gash, police said.

The victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, and police recovered the meat tenderizer at the scene, the NYPD said. The victim's age and condition were not immediately clear.

Orellano was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A manager at Macelleria declined to comment. It was not immediately clear if the men were employees at the restaurant.

Other recent incidents in the 6th Precinct include:

A hot dog vendor slashed an acquaintance with a knife at his food cart just outside Washington Square Park, police said.

Mohamed Ismail, 47, attacked the victim at his cart, at Fifth Avenue and Washington Square North, about 9 a.m. July 8, slashing the man's arm at least three times, according to police and the criminal complaint from the Manhattan District Attorney's Office.

The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Beth Israel Hospital, police said.

Ismail was caught several blocks away at Houston Street and LaGuardia Place and charged with assault. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

► A man was busted for selling fake Burberry dresses in the Village, police said.

The knockoff dresses were being sold out of Z&Z Luggage and Gift Shop at 22 W. 14th St., police said.

Police arrested Muhammed Javed, 40, about 3:20 p.m. on July 7. They said he was hawking 13 dresses and one button-up shirt with fake Burberry logos on them.

A representative from Burberry confirmed that the clothing was fake, police said, and Javed was arrested on charges of fraud and forgery.

Information on Javed's attorney was not immediately available.
