SOUNDVIEW — A 66-year-old woman was found stabbed and slashed to death in her apartment over the weekend, police said.

The victim was found stabbed in the neck late Sunday night inside her building at 1237 Elder Ave. at Westchester Avenue about 11 p.m., according to the NYPD.

She was also found slashed and had signs of blunt force trauma, police said. It was not clear what caused the trauma.

Medics rushed the woman to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

A person of interest has been taken into custody, but the motive of the murder is unknown, police say.
