STATEN ISLAND — Two men were found shot to death early Sunday morning in separate incidents on the North Shore of Staten Island, police said.

Kuwan Collins, 40, of Voorhees Township, N.J., was found shot in the head in front of 367 Britton Ave., police said.

Police responded to 911 calls of gunshots around 5:08 a.m. where they found Collins unresponsive and unconscious. He was taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Less than 10 minutes later, police found Devon Powell, 23, of Mariners Harbor, unconscious with trauma to the head across the street from 86 Arlington Place, police said.

EMS workers responded to the scene around 5:12 a.m. where they pronounced Powell dead, police said. The Medical Examiner later determined that Powell died from gunshot wounds in the head and neck, a spokeswoman said.

There have been no arrests in either of the murders, and police said investigations are ongoing.
