ASTORIA — A shooting near the Astoria Houses Thursday afternoon injured a man and a 15-year-old boy, leaving them both hospitalized, police said.

The gunfire broke out on 8th Street near 27th Avenue about 4:30 p.m., when the 15-year-old was shot in the shoulder and a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg, according to the NYPD.

Officers spotted a man running from the scene and fleeing in a 1999 Honda Accord with another man inside. Minutes later, they crashed into a parked car a few blocks away at 27th Avenue and 21st Street, police said.

A 34-year-old man was arrested on the scene and officers found a .45 caliber handgun, police said.

The second man in the getaway car is still being sought.

Both victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where the teen was in stable condition and the 30-year-old was listed in critical condition, police said.
