What You Need to Know About Subway Service Changes This July 4th Weekend

MIDTOWN — The city's subways will face a few changes this holiday weekend, as trains run on a holiday schedule Friday, July 4th and service changes affect several lines throughout the weekend.

Here's what you need to know about the July 4th weekend subway service changes:

2 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

4 Line: Downtown trains will run local from 125th Street to Grand Central-2nd Street from 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and Bowling Green from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. 4 trains will provide service between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Bowling Green. Free shuttle buses will also run.

6 Line: Trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions from 12:01 am. Saturday until February for station renewal work.

• For service to Zerega Avenue use the Bx4 or shuttle buses running to and from Castle Hill Avenue.
• For service to Buhre Ave use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses running to Middletown Road.

7 Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Mets-Willets Point to 74th Street-Broadway from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

A Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between 168th Street and Inwood-207th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

At all times until August Far Rockaway and Lefferts Boulevard-bound trains are skipping 88th Street.  And Lefferts-bound trains are skipping 104th Street.

• For service to 88 Street take the A train to Rockaway Blvd and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A.  From 88 St, take a Brooklyn-bound A to 80 Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Blvd-bound A train.
• For service to 104 Street take the Lefferts Blvd-bound A to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A.  From 104 St, take the Q112 bus. Or take the A to Rockaway Blvd and transfer to a Lefferts Blvd-bound A train.

C Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between 145th Street and 168th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A trains will run local during that time.

E Line: Trains will run local in Queens from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

D Line: Trains will run local in both directions between DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street in Brooklyn from 12:01 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

F Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will be rerouted over the E line from Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue to 5th Avenue-53rd Street from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
Trains will also run local in Queens from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

G Line: Trains will run every 20 minutes between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues from 5 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday. The last stop for some Queens-bound trains will be Bedford-Nostrand Avenues.

N Line: Trains will run local in both directions between DeKalb Avenue and 59th Street from 12:01 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

R Line: Service will be extended to Jamaica-179th Street from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday.
At all times until October there will be no service between Court Street in Brooklyn and Whitehall Street in Manhattan.
