PARK SLOPE — A gluten-free smorgasbord of pastas, cookies, breads and ice cream are set to fill up the back room of a South Slope bar next week — when Freddy’s bar and gluten-free purveyor Levine’s General Store hail the return of their recurring gluten-free pop-up shop.

The “Gluten-Free EatUP!” a semi-regular food event with vendors who specialize in making food suitable for people with Celiac disease, or any other gluten aversion will fill the back room of the bar on July 13.

“Gluten-free foods don’t have to be sad and tasteless,” organizers from Levine’s General Store said on the event’s website. “Our goal is to present some of our favorite merchants and gluten-free products, in a fun and casual setting.”

Three new vendors have joined the market since it began in January. Taste Up Foods, an Italian specialty food company, will offer its gluten-free pastas, breadcrumbs and cookies; Izzy and Em’s, a Brooklyn-based bakery, will offer its apricot pistachio, almond chocolate chip and butterscotch pecan cookies; and non-dairy ice cream company DF Mavens who will launch three new flavors of ice cream: chocolate mango, New Orleans salted praline and mint almond cookie.

Previous vendors include Kimcheelicious, a Korean sauce purveyor, Polvilho Bakery, a maker of Brazilian snacks called "Biscoito de Polvilho" and Levine’s General Store, which specializes in empanada-like “Yum Pies.”

Admission to the “eat-up” is free, but attendees must be 21 year or older to enter Freddy’s Bar. The “eat-up” will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 13 at 627 5th Ave. in Brooklyn.
