MANHATTAN — A woman fell onto the tracks of the 49th Street station but survived being run over by at least one train early Sunday, officials said.

The 22-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was intoxicated at 6 a.m. when she fell at the N, Q and R station at 7th Avenue and 49th Street, according to FDNY and NYPD spokeswomen.

She managed to get to a safe spot on the tracks where she lay while a train passed right over her, coming within inches but never actually hitting her, the police spokeswoman said.

The New York Post reported that three trains passed over her before she was rescued. Officials were unable to confirm the report.

The woman was removed from the tracks and taken to Bellevue Hospital where she was treated for injuries she sustained in the fall, officials said.
