NEW YORK CITY — Two jet skiers were hospitalized after falling into the water off Gerritsen Beach Monday afternoon, fire officials said.
The accident occurred in Shell Bank Creek off Gerritsen Avenue and the Belt Parkway just after 2:30 p.m., according to the FDNY.
Fire officials said on of the jet skiers, whose age and gender were not immediately known, was pulled out of the water in either cardiac or respiratory arrest and taken to Brooklyn Hospital.
Another jetskier, whose age and gender were also not available, was taken to Brooklyn Hospital in unknown condition.
Silka Komin, 65, said that she had come to the area for the first time this season and saw the FDNY attending to someone on their boat.
"I saw the FDNY pumping somebody on the boat," she said.
