HELL'S KITCHEN — Classes to help you sweat, stretch and relax are coming to Matthews-Palmer Playground.

The West 45th Street Block Association is hosting free yoga and boot camp classes, along with reflexology massage, at the park on West 45th Street between Ninth and 10th avenues.

"Healthy Hell's Kitchenights" will bring fitness to the park every Monday evening for the next three weeks, as part of the block association's commitment to transforming the park into an "outdoor community center."

The block association has been stymied in recent months, however, after the city ticketed it with more than $40,000 in fines for promoting its free public events. The summer fitness events were advertised online instead.

Monday night's event will start at 7:30 p.m. with a reflexology class hosted by practitioner Birgit Nagele, followed by a candlelit mixed-style yoga class taught by instructor Victoria Wells.

The classes will continue on the evenings of July 7 and July 14. On those nights, personal trainer Josue Castaneda will also run a "Going Green" boot camp at 7:30 p.m.

The classes are free — just bring a mat, a bottle of water and enthusiasm.
