BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — Seven people were injured after a garbage truck crashed through the wall of a Bed-Stuy deli early Friday morning, officials said.

The vehicle, marked with a logo for private sanitation company Metropolitan Recycling, was heading west on DeKalb Avenue toward Bedford Avenue around 2:10 a.m. when a black 2011 Volkswagen sedan, driving north on Bedford, ran a red light and collided with it, police said.

The truck veered into Jobran Gourmet Deli, at 994 Bedford Ave., destroying the shop's brick wall on DeKalb Avenue.

Seven people were rushed to Woodhull and Kings County hospitals and were in stable condition Friday morning, according to the FDNY. Two people worked in the deli, and the rest were in the vehicles, witnesses and officials said.

Mohamed Ali, 20, who works in the deli and lives in the building, was asleep in his apartment when the truck hit the building.

"I was asleep, and heard a big [noise] that shook the building for like five seconds," Ali said. "I woke up, I opened the window and I saw the truck outside."

The 20-year-old ran downstairs, where he saw his two cousins Salh and Moud exit the shop with minor injuries.

As of Friday afternoon, Ali and his family were unable to reenter the building while officials checked if it was structurally sound, he said.

"I've lost my job," Ali said. "No work, no house. Terrible."

Police redirected traffic from DeKalb between Bedford Avenue and Skillman Street until about noon Friday.

There have been no arrests or tickets issued as of Friday morning and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

The Volkswagen stayed at the scene, police said.
