CLAREMONT — A man has been charged with manslaughter after leaving his 14-month-old daughter in a bathtub with the water running for about 15 minutes, according to court documents.

Daniel Castillano, 23, left both his daughter, Leslie Castellano, and his 3-year-old son, Edgar Castellano, in the bathtub on May 7 in an apartment on Selwyn Avenue, near Mt. Eden Parkway, court documents said.

She died more than two weeks later from complications from near drowning, according to the Daily News and court papers.

Castilliano’s son was unharmed, the paper said.

The suspect was charged with criminally negligent homicide and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned on Saturday, released without bail, and is due back in court on Tuesday, July 15.

Castillano's lawyer could not be reached for comment.
