14 Subway Lines to Undergo Service Changes This Weekend

MIDTOWN — Service changes will hit 14 subway lines this week.

The 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, E, F, G, L, N, Q, R and S lines are slated to undergo repairs to spruce up tracks, stations and signal systems, according to the MTA.

Here's a breakdown of the changes by line:

1 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, southbound 1 trains will run express from Penn Station to Chambers Street because of track tie renewal at Penn Station.

2 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday, Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College-bound 2 trains will run express from Penn Station to Chambers Street because of track tie renewal at Penn Station.

4 Line: From 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, 4 trains are suspended in both directions between 149th Street-Grand Concourse and Woodlawn due to track panel installation at Yankee Stadium and Bedford Park. D trains and free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

From 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Bronx-bound 4 trains will skip Fulton Street due to work on the Fulton Street Transit Center.

5 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 5 trains are suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street because of signal modernization.

From 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, East 180th Street-bound 5 trains will skip Fulton Street because of work on the Fulton Street Transit Center.

6 Line: From 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, some Pelham Bay Park-bound 5 trains will terminate at 3rd Avenue-138th Street due to track maintenance at Cypress Avenue.

7 Line: From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Flushing-bound 7 trains will run express from 74th Street-Broadway to Citi Field because of construction.

A Line: Until August, Far Rockaway/Lefferts Boulevard-bound As will skip 88th Street, and Lefferts Boulevard-bound As will skip 104th Street due to station renewals at 88th Street and 104th Street.

To get to and from 88th Street, take the A to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A. From 88th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A to 80th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

To get to 104th Street, take the Lefferts Boulevard-bound A to Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A. From 104th Street, take the Q112 bus or take the A to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

E Line: From 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, E trains run local in Queens due to signal modernization at Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike.

F Line: From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Queens-bound Fs are rerouted via the E line from 47th-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center to Queens Plaza because of Second Avenue subway construction.

From 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, F trains run local in both directions in Queens due to signal modernization at Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike.

G Line: From 5 a.m. to midnight Saturday and Sunday, G trains run every 20 minutes between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenue due to Hurricane Sandy recovery work in the Greenpoint tube. Some Court Square-bound Gs will terminate at Bedford-Nostrand Avenues.

L Line: From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, L trains will run every 24 minutes between Canarsie and Broadway Junction because of train tests. L service will operate in two segments: from 8th Avenue to Broadway Junction and from Broadway Junction to Canarsie.

N Line: From 5:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, N trains will be suspended in both directions between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Queensboro Plaza due to switch repairs south of Queensboro Plaza. R and 7 trains will provide alternate service.

Q Line: Until early summer, Coney Island-bound Q trains will skip Parkside Avenue because of painting and concrete repair work.

From 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday, Coney Island-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Sheepshead Bay because of track panel work at Brighton Beach.

R Line: No R trains will run between Jay Street-MetroTech, Court Street, Whitehall Street, Rector Street, Cortlandt Street and City Hall. Late-night R shuttle in Brooklyn is unaffected.

S Line: From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, the Franklin Avenue shuttle will operate every 24 minutes because of circuit breaker house work north of Prospect Park.
