UPPER WEST SIDE — A ramen joint is taking over a former tapas restaurant on Amsterdam Avenue, real estate sources said.

Jin Ramen, which has a location on Broadway near West 125th Street, is moving into the shuttered Sol y Sombra space between West 82nd and 83rd streets, said Joseph Tar Schmidt, who brokered the deal.

The restaurant's owners are planning to go before Community Board 7 Wednesday night to get approval for their liquor license application, as reported by the West Side Rag. They could not be reached for comment.

Tar Schmidt said renovations are taking place at the space, with an opening date still to be determined.

Mille-Feuille, the classic French cafe with a shop in Greenwich Village and its bakery in Williamsburg, opened Tuesday on Broadway between West 77th and 78th streets in the storefront formerly occupied by Big Nick's.

The 14-seat space will soon have a bench outside, said manager Clara Kasser, who added that the cafe will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and an hour later on weekends.

In addition to macaroons, croissants, eclairs, sandwiches and French treats, the bakery is offering larger cakes for between $29 and $39, said Nathalie Dessyn, who owns the bakery with her husband Olivier Dessyn.

They're offering cakes for the first time because the new location is "more neighborhood-y," instead of just students and office workers, she said.

The Indian restaurant Awadh is opening Wednesday night on Broadway at West 98th Street, serving fare from the Awadh region in northern Uttar Pradesh.

The upscale restaurant specializes in slow-cooked curries and meats prepared in a special Awadhi technique called "dum pukht."

The owner, Gaurav Anand, also owns Moti Mahal Delux, on 63rd Street and First Avenue, and Bhatti Indian Grill, on Lexington Avenue at 27th Street.
