Harlem Subway Punch Victim Succumbs to Injuries, Police Say

EAST HARLEM — The Soundview man critically injured after getting punched out and slamming his head on a Harlem subway platform died on Tuesday, police said. 

James Kutza, 45, got into an argument with another man on a northbound 6 train Friday morning, according to the NYPD.

The fight allegedly escalated when they got to the 125th Street station and the suspect punched Kutza, causing him to fall and strike his head on the platform.

Kutza, who lived on Ward Avenue in The Bronx, was taken to Harlem Hospital where he later passed away.

Police released a video of the suspect, dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt leaving the station. They described him as a 6-foot man in his 20s.
