MIDTOWN — A flood advisory went into effect Monday as a near-perfect weekend gave way to a drenching start to the work week.

As of 9 a.m., 1.21 inches had soaked Central Park with another half-inch of rain expected by noon, a National Weather Service spokesman said.

The rain was expected to pick up again Monday evening and possibly continue into Tuesday morning.

Temperatures Monday were expected to reach 75 degrees.
