LOWER MANHATTAN — It’s going to get funky at Pier 15 this summer.

Legendary funk group George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic is headed to the scenic East River pier, at South Street and Maiden Lane, for a show on Aug. 21.

The lively band, known for its groovy anthems like “Give Up The Funk,” is part of a summerlong concert series hosted by the Watermark Bar, a glass-enclosed spot that opened on the renovated pier last year.

Other acts performing in the mostly funk, blues and jazz-filled lineup include the New Orleans-based Rebirth Jazz Band and Brooklyn's Snarky Puppy, a collective of about 40 musicians. The first show will be Escort on June 13.

Tickets for the eight shows range in price from $25 to $40. More shows may be announced in the coming weeks.

For additional information on the concert series, visit the Watermark Bar website.
