EAST VILLAGE — A man tried to rape a 23-year-old woman after following her into her home Monday night, police said.
The suspect shadowed the woman as she entered her building, near Second Avenue in the East Village, at about 11:50 p.m. on June 2, police said.
He then attacked her, but fled after she began to scream, police said.
Police described the suspect as a 20-to-25-year-old man, about 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki pants, a dark sweater with a zipper and baseball-style hat, police said.
