LOWER MANHATTAN — Free drinks, desserts and more are popping up Downtown — but just on Tuesdays.
More than 60 local shops, restaurants and museums are offering special deals each Tuesday through Sept. 30 as part of a Downtown Alliance and 9/11 Museum initiative to highlight Lower Manhattan businesses.
The “Lower Manhattan Tuesdays” promotion offers two ways to get the discounts. One is to visit the recently opened 9/11 Museum — which has free admission on Tuesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. — and then show your ticket at participating businesses.
Or you can skip the 9/11 Museum and register for a special code on the Downtown Alliance website, and then show that code to participating businesses on Tuesdays.
Deals include buy-one-get-one-free drinks at Seaport Bar Fresh Salt from 8 p.m. to midnight; 10 percent off coffee and baked goods at Front Street’s Jack’s Stir Brew; two-for-one admission at the Anne Frank Center; and discounts on helicopter tours from Helicopter Flight Services.
"We hope the discounts that [Lower Manhattan Tuesdays] offers will help many New Yorkers, and visitors, discover a lot of what Lower Manhattan has to offer,” Jessica Lappin, president of the Downtown Alliance, said in a statement.
